  Na Wybrzeżu Adriatyckim panuje klimat śródziemnomorski charakteryzujący się suchym i ciepłym latem oraz wilgotną i łagodną zimą. Najcieplejszym miesiącem jest lipiec, najchłodniejszym styczeń, a średnia insolacja wynosi rocznie 2600 godzin, przy czy największe nasłonecznie przypada na wyspy Adriatyku Środkowego. Latem, na Adriatyku Północnym, temperatura wynosi 34ºC, podczas gdy na południu dochodzi nawet do 38°C. Najniższe zimowe temperatury odnotowane na Adriatyku Północnym wynosiły -16°C, a na południu temperatura nie spadła poniżej -6°C. W ciągu ostatnich 5 lat globalne ocieplenie powoduje podwyższenie średnich wartości temperatur.
